The short version

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits, and keeps an email list for people who choose to subscribe. I don't sell or share your data, and I don't run ads.

Google Analytics

I use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and what's useful. It records things like the pages you visit, how far you scroll on an article, which links you click (for example "Book a Call" or links to LinkedIn), roughly where you are (city or country), and your browser and device type. It sets cookies to tell repeat visits apart.

Google Analytics never receives your email address, even if you subscribe. If you'd rather not be counted, you can use a content blocker or Google's opt-out browser add-on. Google's own handling is described in its privacy policy.

The email list (The Secure Pipeline)

If you subscribe, I store your email address, which form you used (for example the newsletter page or an article), the page you were on, when you signed up, and when you confirmed. You'll get a confirmation email first, and nothing else is sent until you click it.

After you confirm, you get three short welcome emails: one straight away with the free Hiring Identity Checklist, one two days later with where to start on the site, and one five days later asking what security problem you're working on. To avoid sending any of them twice, the list also records which welcome email you last received and when. If you unsubscribe, the remaining welcome emails are not sent.

I use it only to send The Secure Pipeline, about one email every one to two weeks. Emails are sent through Resend, an email delivery service. Your address isn't sold, shared or used for anything else.

How to unsubscribe

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're off the list. You can also email salmantabrezmd@gmail.com and I'll remove you, or ask me to delete your details entirely.

RSS feed

Prefer not to give an email at all? The RSS feed lists every new article. Feed readers fetch it like any web page, and nothing about you is stored.
